Have you seen milk paint done but don't know how to tackle it yourself? Jody will be hosting two demonstrations for free. These demonstrations are for people who are interested in learning about Miss Mustard Seed's Milk Paint. These two days will increase your knowledge of the products, learn the basics of Milk Paint, and how to create the piece of furniture you've always wanted. The dates are Thursday, Feb. 7th at 5:30 at Riverwalk in River Falls. Can't make it? There is another on Saturday, Feb. 9th at 2 at Tags in Hudson. E-mail Jody at 3chicksfarm@gmail.com. Hope to see you there! February class dates are now decided! There will be two classes this upcoming month. Sunday, Feb. 17th from 9-11 at Tags in Hudson. If you can't make it on Sunday, there is another class on Tuesday, Feb. 26th from 6-8:30 also at Tags. The price is only $60. You will get two sample sizes of paint of your choice, sample wax, and not to mention knowledge of CeCe Caldwell's Paint. If you are interested in joining us, please e-mail Jody at 3chicksfarm@gmail.com My work friend, Joanie wanted me to find her a BIG headboard. She wanted it to be a "statement piece". Then she wanted it to look like old world elegance. And it needed to be queen size. Kinda a tall order! Especially since queen size is a relatively modern size. After a couple of weeks of looking, I happened upon this beauty. Just look at those details! Joanie loved it! Now on to color choices...... After looking on Pintrest and other internet sites and doing a couple samples boards, she decided on CeCe Caldwell's Paints in Seattle Mist. This picture is after the first coat of paint. Yes, I am painting in my kitchen! That is my only choice in the frigid Wisconsin winter. My paint would probably freeze if I tried painting in the garage! That's one of the cool things about CeCe's paint...no VOCs and very little odor. And you can watch it dry! You can see it goes on pretty dark and then it lightens as it dries. Must be all those minerals, chalk and clay in the paint. After the second coat of paint dried, I sanded with 220 grit sandpaper and applied CeCe Caldwell's clear wax. Here are a couple close ups of some of the details of the headboard. And here is a picture of the FINAL product in it's new home!! (I requested a better picture...will update when I receive it.) She was VERY HAPPY!! Today we are having our first "Paint Made Easy" Workshop at Tags in Hudson. We are very excited to welcome everyone to try out CeCe Caldwell's Paint. We have a full house, plus one extra. Everyone will learn how to paint with CeCe's, some different techniques while painting, and also how to wax with the clear and aging wax. Next workshop is Sunday, January 27th. THE PAINT HAS ARRIVED! All the colors are wonderful! The garage bookshelf is full of all the cans of colors just waiting to be poured. I will be selling CeCe Caldwell's Paints at the Hudson shop, Tags. Stop by and see all the beautiful colors for yourself! Can't wait to get painting oh and... Happy Painting :) Farmhouse inspired has a table set up at Art on the Kinni! Art on the Kinni is an art event here in River Falls, Wi.
